Book Review: Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins

 At a Glance:
I read The Hunger Games and Catching Fire back to back last year. I really loved them! I always wanted to read Mockingjay, but I got the chance to read it this year. I'm so glad I read it! Few friends told me that the book is a dissapointment, and that it's not as good as the first two. I don't know what they were talking about! Mockingjay was magnificent! I loved it!

Romance:
There isn't a lot of romance in Mockingjay. I mean, almost not at all. 

Action:
A LOT OF ACTION!!!!! Every single chapter was filled with action! It made the plot go so fast! 

Heroine:
Katniss Everdeen is my favorite character of all times! I mean, she is so strong, confident and yet, she is herself! In these three books she goes in soo many emotional rides, I feel sorry for her. Those two deaths at the end almost broke my heart!

Hero:
Peeta, Finnick and Gale... All great heros! They did all to protect Katniss, their loved one. Though, Suzanne Collins decided that three heros is a lot, so decided to break out hearts and kill one of them. 

Things I liked:
I liked that it was full of action. I liked District 13. I liked the epilogue. 

Things I disliked:
Sometimes I thought that the writing style was like... to much. Like, sometimes I'd forget what Katniss was trying to say or think when she started that thought. 

Would I recommend it?
YES FOR SURE. This book is a total must read. Like it's preceders, it's an action paced, full of greatness novel. It will make you think about yourself and the world around you.

My review:  After reading The Hunger Games in two days, I immediately picked up Catching Fire because I wanted more of the story and more of Collins' writing. I didn't want it to disapoint me. Lucky me, because it did not. It was amazing. Not as good as THG but still, a great book.

Now, two weeks after reading it, it's hard for me to write a review. Not just because It's been 2 weeks since I've read it, but because I feel like this book doesn't need anymore reviews. It has so many and most of them positive, and this one would be just another one in the chain. Anyway, I'm gonna do my best and write a short review.

The character of Katniss develops a lot in this book. It will reassure you how she cares and how selfless she is. How she cares about the people she loves, more then she cares about herself. 

There are a lot of action scenes. That's what I loved the most in THG and I love the most in this book. I don't know how Suzanne does it, but she writes action scenes perfectly. 

If you are looking for only a romance in this book, then you won't find it. There wans't a lot of it, which by the way makes me happy. I do not like too romantic books, too much love showing and things like that.

Overall, Catching Fire was an amazing read. I'd recomment it to every one.

Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives alone with her mother and younger sister, regards it as a death sentence when she steps forward to take her sister’s place in the Games. But Katniss has been close to dead before—and survival, for her, is second nature. Without really meaning to, she becomes a contender. But if she is to win, she will have to start making choices that will weigh survival against humanity and life against love.

My review:  First of all, I must say that this is my first time reading The Hunger Games. Yeah, that's right. You can start laughing at me, I can take it.
I had it waiting on my bookshelf for months before picking it up and reading it. And let me tell you, it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. 

Now, I don't know how to write a review of it. There are so many reviews out there, and I don't feel like there's the need of another one. But, I'll try to do my best and make it short.

The Hunger Games is one of the best dystopian books in the YA lit. Why? Well, it has it all: great plot, a lot of action and little bit of romance. 

The book surrounds Katniss Everdeen, the Dictrict 12 female tribute, who must use her experience at hunting in the woods, that's needed to feed her family, in order to survive the Hunger Games.

She is one of the best characters I've ever read. Strong, caring and sarcastis at most of the moments. She doesn't need a man to carry her, love her and do crazy stuff for her. She is powerful and can do everything on her one. In the Games, she made strong, reasonable choices.

Collins' writing style is amazing. It makes you want to read and read and read. I stayed all night to finish the book. There were a lot of unexpected moments like ''OMG, I did not see that happen'', a lot of sweet moments between Katniss and Peeta. 

I don't know what else to say about the book. Even though I liked Divergent a little better then The Hunger Games (maybe because I read Divergent before THG) but still, this is one of my favorite books ever.
