Book Review: Breaking Point by Kristen Simmons

Title: Breaking Point (Article 5 #2)
Author: Kristen SimmonsFirst Published: February 12th 2013

Genre: YA, Dystopian
Pages: 398
Rating: 4.5 out of 5

After faking their deaths to escape from prison, Ember Miller and Chase Jennings have only one goal: to lay low until the Federal Bureau of Reformation forgets they ever existed.
Near-celebrities now for the increasingly sensationalized tales of their struggles with the government, Ember and Chase are recognized and taken in by the Resistance—an underground organization working to systematically take down the government. At headquarters, all eyes are on the sniper, an anonymous assassin taking out FBR soldiers one by one. Rumors are flying about the sniper’s true identity, and Ember and Chase welcome the diversion….
Until the government posts its most-wanted list, and their number one suspect is Ember herself.
Orders are shoot to kill, and soldiers are cleared to fire on suspicion alone. Suddenly Ember can’t even step onto the street without fear of being recognized, and “laying low” is a joke. Even members of the Resistance are starting to look at her sideways.
With Chase urging her to run, Ember must decide: Go into hiding…or fight back?

 At a Glance:
I am so glad I read this book!! Ever since I read Artcle 5 last year, I was eager to know what happens next. You know, Artcle 5 was one of the best books I read last year, and I definitely was excited for the sequel. I put my expectations very high, and expected a lot! Thank god I got everything I wanted! This book was excellent! It had action, it had a little bit romance and it SURE had some unexpected twists! Like the end, let's say. I loved it!

Romance:
I liked the romance. I think it flowed slowly but not borring. I loved the romance between Ember and Chase in Article 5, I loved it in Breaking Point too! There was one moment when I thought a love triangle was on the sight... Thanks Kristen for not being like almost every single YA author now.

Action:
A LOT. I mean A LOT A LOT. That's why I loved this book so much. It was full of action scenes, and full of unexpected moments.

Heroine:
Ember was a great heroine. She is not my favorite YA heroine ever, but I liked her. I liked that she didn't rely on Chase's protection, and I liked that she did what she wanted to do. She was tough, fierce and strong. The holy trinity of great heroines!

Hero:
Chase was a descent hero. I liked that he protected Ember in most of the cases. The one thing I didn't like about him is that he was very fast when It came to thinking about some things. He started few fights without thinking about them.

Things I liked:
Ember's flashbacks to the past.
The action scenes!
Rebecca's case.

Things I disliked:
I can't think of a thing that I didn't like that much in Breaking Point. Maaaybe the beginning I didn't like that much, because It was rather slow, but apart from there weren't things that I disliked.

Would I recommend it?
YES OF COURSE. This is a must read for all the Article 5 fans! And I think that the dystopian book lovers would love this one. It is a great addition to the dystopian genre.

                                    4.5 out of 5 stars
